Can Conservatories Be Used In Winter?

05 Feb 2021

With recent weather proving to be quite the winter wonderland, 2021 has gotten off to a frosty start. Often, conservatories are said to be too cold to be used during Winter. Whilst that may be the case for some older structures, here at C & W Direct, we’re attempting to put that rumour to bed. In our latest blog post, we’ll be discussing why our conservatories can be used all year round.

Optitherm A-Rated Windows Regulate your Conservatories’ Temperature

Here at C & W Direct, we understand how important it is that a large investment like a conservatory can be used throughout the whole year. That’s why we opt to use Optitherm A-rated windows in our manufacturing and installations.

Being graded A, they are well above the government’s minimum standard of a C grade and are built to let more heat into the conservatory than out. This allows them to monitor the temperature in your conservatory, improve your energy efficiency rating and drop your energy bills.

Guardian Warm Roofing Provides Conservatories with Thermal Reliability

Guardian Warm Roofing is used in our conservatories to regulate and adapt to changing weather conditions. You’ll no longer have to worry about when to use it thanks to its ability to retain heat in the Winter and keep the room cool in the Summer.

Guardian warm roofing has been fully tested and approved to all thermal and structural standards. Therefore, it can be relied on for thermal reliability and continuous insulation. This is all thanks to its combination of materials:

  • A pre-engineered lightweight frame
  • Two layers of rigid insulation board
  • Internal insulated plasterboard
  • Exterior grade plywood
  • A vapour membrane
